Wäinölä – A Charming Venue for Unforgettable Celebrations
Discover the hidden gem of Taavetti in Temmes – the enchanting Wäinölä. Originally built in 1904 as a workers' hall, Wäinölä has served many purposes over the years: a civil guard house, a theater venue, and now a beloved village house. Its name pays homage to Väinö Toppila, a renowned local merchant, theater director, and poetry enthusiast who directed over 400 plays in Temmes. After that, the Temmes Local Heritage Association (Finnish: Temmeksen Kotiseutuyhdistys) took on the responsibility of preserving the historic Wäinölä and, in 2013, donated it to the Temmes Village Association (Finnish: Temmeksen kyläyhdistys).
An Unforgettable Setting for Your Special Occasion
Wäinölä, brought back to life by the Temmes Village Association and local volunteers, has already become well known to many as a wonderful venue for celebrations. Surrounded by changing seasonal landscapes, this beautifully renovated village hall has witnessed candlelit winter gatherings and summer festivities filled with the scent of flowers. While the atmosphere reflects its rich history, Wäinölä is fully equipped for modern events.
Happy wedding couples, joyful birthday celebrations, and a wide range of emotional and memorable moments have all found their place within Wäinölä’s storied walls. In addition to private parties, the venue is also ideal for meetings, theater performances, and workshops.
Wäinölä’s Halloween Celebration
Organized by the Temmes Village Association, Wäinölä’s Halloween party is a fun-filled event for children and teenagers. It’s a hugely popular celebration, drawing over a hundred kids from Temmes and nearby villages to enjoy spooky games, treats, and a costume contest where the best outfit wins a prize!
