In Kallo, you can experience not only the exhilarating surf, but also great autumn storms and a touch of romance.
Finland's toughest surfers know the raucous roars of Yyteri and Mäntyluoto. From Mäntyluoto you can take the embankment road to the beautiful Kallo rocky cave, where you can sip your own picnic coffee in a stunning seascape. Kallon harbour harbour harbour and its rocky beaches are popular destinations for excursions. Pori's maritime patrol and pilot station are located in Kalto. The island's sailing club, Segelföreningen i Björneborg BSF, is the oldest continuously operating sports club in Finland.
During the summer there is a boat service between Kallo and Reposaari. In Kallo the shuttle leaves from the boat launching point in the harbour, and in Reposaari from behind the restaurant Merimesta. Kallo is also reachable by car, and it is therefore popular destination in all weathers.
It is possible to visit the Kallo lighthouse. The current lighthouse was built in 1903, designed by a leading architect of the time, Gustaf Nyström. During the summer, Kallo also has a café run by three young friends from Pori. So don't worry if you forgot to bring your own coffee on the trip!
