Kyrkösjärvi Recreation Park in Seinäjoki
The Recreation Park is located in a beautiful natural setting by Lake Kyrkösjärvi, about 3.5 kilometers from the center of Seinäjoki. This accessible and versatile experience and activity center offers opportunities for recreation and adventure for all ages and abilities — year-round.
Start your outdoor day at the Nature House Käpälikkö, where you can get route tips, nature information, and maps in both traditional and digital formats.
The park’s activities and attractions suit families, groups, and independent visitors. The accessible Squirrel Trail offers experiences for children, and the area features the geological Stone Yard and Trail, frisbee golf, boat and recreational piers, a paddling center, equipment rental, a swimming beach, and the Kyrkkis kiosk.
Special highlights include the Seinäjoki Health Forest, Finland’s first Barefoot Trail, and the Forest Mega-phone all sources of wellbeing and sensory experiences.
Along the accessible Juoppilanvuori Experience Trail, you can find a bunker, military obstacle course, Aarnikotka hut, bird and animal watching hides, poetry boards, and the popular mural-decorated Experience Stairs leading to a scenic viewpoint over Seinäjoki.
