Crater Lake Tour – Guided Excursion Around Lake Lappajärvi by bus (Impact Crater Lake Lappajärvi UNESCO Global Geopark)

On this guided tour (by bus) around Lake Lappajärvi, a local guide will share fascinating stories about the origin of the crater lake, meteorites, and the Impact Crater Lake Lappajärvi UNESCO Global Geopark area. The driving route mostly follows beautiful lakeside roads.

Along the way, you will visit the Kivitippu Resort area and the Meteorite Center located in the hotel. In Vimpeli, you will explore the unique round church, the Finnish Baseball Museum, and the Saarikenttä Baseball Stadium. You’ll also enjoy scenic views from the slopes of Lakeaharju, located on the crater’s rim. In Alajärvi, you will see buildings designed by architect Alvar Aalto. The tour concludes at the Punaisen Tuvan Viinitila (winery), where the group has the opportunity to purchase local berry wines.
