Rowing boating on lake Kesänki

Kesänkijärvi offers a great setting for rowing boating in the lap of the fells. The fell walls rising on both sides of the lake compress the groundwater to rise from numerous sources from the bottom of the lake and its edges. The clean and clear water provides a great habitat for natural fish. The lake has only just been freed from fish stocking and is in the early stages of restoration. The national park borders the lake, so disembarking should be avoided. Landing is possible via the pier at the eastern end of the lake. The Metsähallitus hut and lean-to area with toilets, as well as Kesängin Keidas (cafe) are just a few oarstrokes away. Have a nice summer!
