Children’s Traffic Park

Free

A brand-new free traffic park for children opened in Alajärvi in summer 2025.

The park is open on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. during June and July.

🚦 Traffic Park Rules 🚦

Welcome to Alajärvi’s Children’s Traffic Park! To ensure a fun and safe experience for everyone, please follow these rules:

The park is intended for children aged 4–12.

Children must be supervised by a guardian.

Follow all instructions given by the staff.

Helmets must be worn when using pedal cars. We recommend bringing your own. If you don’t have one, you can borrow a helmet from the city.

Driving time is limited to 15 minutes during busy times. If the park is quiet, driving time can be extended.

One driver per pedal car – only one person allowed in the vehicle at a time.

Do not push or pull the cars – drive gently using your own feet.

Drive carefully – no racing or crashing allowed.

Wait your turn during busy times – everyone will get to drive.

Ask an adult for help if needed – staff are happy to assist.

Obey traffic signs – they work just like real traffic.

Stop at STOP signs – and look both ways before proceeding.

Pedestrians first! – Always stop for people crossing at crosswalks.

Stay in your lane – don’t drive the wrong way or cut in front of others.

Keep the area clean and throw rubbish in the bins.

If rules are broken, staff may stop the ride or ask the child to leave the park.

Please report any damage to the park, cars or helmets to the staff, as well as any rule-breaking or disruptive behavior.

The City of Alajärvi is responsible for maintaining the park and its equipment.
