FAUNA HUMANA – A Street Carnival of Human and Animal Worlds

Fauna Humana is a fantastical street carnival group that appears suddenly in city squares, markets, and public spaces — a curious mix of human-like animals or animal-like humans, depending on how you see it! Their performances blend carnival, performance art, mask theatre, and dance.

These whimsical characters wander among the crowd, surprising passersby with music-accompanied dance interludes and playful interaction.

The group was born in 2013 from the desire of Helsinki-based puppet theatre artists to bring carnival culture into Finnish street life and take performance art beyond traditional theatre spaces. Since then, the "Faunas" have delighted audiences with spontaneous, joyful appearances in a wide variety of events and locations.

In Imatra, the group will include four different characters and one musician, with the line-up slightly changing between Friday and Saturday.

Performers: Perrine Ferrafiat, Mila Nirhamo, Iida Vanttaja, Malla Koivula
